Community: a social group of any size whose members reside in a specific locality, share government, and often have a common cultural and historical heritage.

To the Editor:
On May 16, we as a family and a community mourned the passing of Richard "Tim" Tackett.
The word community is derived from the Latin word communitas which means "with/together" and "gift." It was during this loss our family realized the blessing and the true gift a loving and supportive community can provide.
We as a family would like to thank and acknowledge our many friends, neighbors and the entire Hilliard community for the outpouring of love and support shown to us during the loss of our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law and true friend, Tim.
Pope John II once said: "A community needs a soul if it is to become a true home for human beings." We would like to thank the Hilliard community for displaying its soul and providing a home for our family's heart during this most difficult time.
To remember Tim is to realize that he never knew a stranger and that he was a true inspiration to many. Tim was a role model, but he never considered himself to be one. His philosophy was simple: Work hard, do your best and the rest will fall into place.
During his short 47 years, Tim had a tremendous impact on many lives. He never was too busy to stop and give directions or to say "hi" to people in passing.
Tim was known for his thoughtfulness as he would often ask how his customers on his route were doing. He took pride in his job and he took care of his family and our hearts are deeply broken from losing him.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no once can steal.
