As my wife and I have been decorating our new home we decided to have framed a letter my mother, Reese's grandmother, wrote to Reese the day she was born. My wife and I thought it would be a great keepsake for Reese to have the first letter ever written to her, and a tremendous reminder to her, and us, how fortunate we all are to have such a wonderful "Nana" in our lives.
My mother, Reese's grandmother, is a very special lady.
Nana & Reese (2010)
Below are the contents of that letter:
Dear Reese Olivia Christine,
Poppy and I have waited so long for your arrival. God has graced us with your precious, wonderful presence.
You are so amazing and beautiful, that button nose, rose bud lip, your sweet little fingers and toes. I have so much planned for us. Lots of fun things, like tea parties, movies, play dates and most importantly shopping. I know Aunt Meredith has a lot of shopping plans for us too. Maybe we will invite her to come along on our play dates. You have five great big brothers. I know you will have a lot of fun playing with them. Ryan & Addison I know will share their cars with you. Bryce and Austin will show you some basketball & soccer moves. And big brother Logan, well he is in college and he will show you how to double your money. He is a great swimmer; maybe he will teach you the backstroke.
Your mommy & daddy love you so much, always listen to their instructions. Mimi and Poppa, Aunt Deana, Aunt Jodi and Great Grandmother Charlton loves you so much too. You will be spending lots of fun time with them.
Gunner & Bella, they may look at you funny, but they think you are very special. You are a child of the Most High God. May God bless you and your family always.
Love Always,
Nana
xoxo
